Small Size Cactus

Tiny Wonders: A Guide to Small Size Cactus.

Surely, we all love striking plants and pathos to make our indoor space colourful. But what about small size cactus?

Cacti can be a beautiful addition to your lovely place. I love cacti, and I suggest that my friend, who doesn’t have an indoor garden, put some small or mini-sized cacti on her table.

We have varieties of cacti around us: super long, long, medium, and others. But today, I will talk about mini-size cacti that you can have.

Star CactusStart Cactus, Small Size Cactus

My first choice is the star cactus, or you can say sand dollar cactus. Whatever you call it, they are beautiful. From a bird’s eye view, it looks like a sand dollar and a star.

Star cactus is easy to grow and perfectly fits any indoor garden. It can be six inches long and has a chubby body with sides covered with white dots.

It can grow indoors in a sandy potting mix. It requires full sun and occasional watering. Star small size cactus doesn’t like over-watering, so you need to pay close attention to it.Star cacti are not poisonous to humans or pets.

Chin Cactus:Chin cactus, small size cactus

My second choice is the chin cactus. Well, you can call it a super small size cactus because it grows up to 1.6 inches. Amazing, right? Mini chin cactus is one of the popular small cacti varieties.

It usually looks dark green, but it can turn red if exposed to direct sunlight. The awesome fact about these mini-size chin cacti is that their flowers can be quite variable in colour, like white, yellow, green, and pink.

You can place it in a small pot with mixed soil and water it when needed. The best part of cactus is that they don’t require a lot of attention.

Moon Cactus:Moon cactus,small size cactus

Who doesn’t know about the moon cactus? These small size cactus can light up your indoor garden. They have unique shapes ranging in colours like orange, yellow, pink, and even neon colours in a ball-shaped appearance.

For beginners, it can be a very good choice because it needs low maintenance and can be placed anywhere away from direct sunlight.

Water them whenever they dry out, but don’t let them dry out too much, and don’t over water them.

Moon cactus is a slow-growing cactus, so it can take longer than your expectations.

Thimble Cactus:Thimble Cactus,small size cactus

This one is my favourite. It doesn’t look like a cactus, but it’s a small size cactus that grows up to 5 inches. Thimble cacti have bright green round stems that are covered with white spines all over.

The white spines make them look like soft, white foam. Thimble cacti are not easy to get. Once you find one, it can add an extra smile to your indoor garden.

All cacti have a similar watering system: not too much and not too dry. An interesting part of this mini-size cactus is that its flowers are pale yellow or creamy white, and the petals can have a pinkish mid-stripe.

Sea Urchin Cactus:Sea Urchin Cactus, small size cactus

My last choice is sea urchin cactus. It’s native to South Africa so that it can tolerate much more than other cacti.

These small size cactus do not require high maintenance and remain small throughout their lifetime. They can be a beautiful addition to any indoor garden.

Mini-size Sea urchin cacti can also grow in poor soil conditions and need water when they dry out. But sea urchin cacti can stay healthy in full sunlight.

Well, as I always pick my favourite five lists, today I share these small size cactus, or mini-size cacti, as you like to call them. They are all my favourites. If you are a beginner plant parent, you can start with cacti because of their low-maintenance character.
