Rare Bonsai

Rare and Beautiful: 5 Bonsai Trees for Your Garden

Being a gardener is always challenging. I always look for unique or rare plants to have in my garden. Having a rare piece is a satisfaction. Gardeners will understand how rare pieces make us happy.

I decided to share five rare bonsai you can add to your indoor garden to give it a unique vibe.

Azalea

The first bonsai on my list is Azalea. Who doesn’t like to see beautiful flowers in their room? Azalea takes first place because of its flowers. The flowers come in many different shapes, colours, and even sizes.

It will add a Japanese spring vibe to your garden. It flowers in spring. In Japan, they organize unique azalea festivals, where we can see nearly 1000 types of Azalea.

Azalea:

Care:

Bonsai need special care because they are unique plants. Azalea cannot tolerate direct tap water; using rainwater or a mix of rain and tap water is better. Don’t let it get too dry or too wet.

Rosemary

My second choice is rosemary. It’s also called the mint of the sea. It reflects sea vibes. It will flower from time to time, mostly in spring and summer. But rosemary needs a lot of attention; you must give it a reasonable amount of time to take care of it.

Rosemary

Care:

Rosemary needs water quite often. It becomes susceptible to drought conditions. Three things you need to keep a rosemary bonsai happy: sun, good drainage, and good air circulation. The better you water rosemary, the faster it will grow.

Giant Sequoia:

Giant Sequoia is my third choice. Giant Sequoias can live around 3000 years, and making one into a bonsai takes many years. It’s a very rare and expensive bonsai to have in your garden.

Giant Sequoia

Care:
It needs a lot of cloud moisture because it is usually found near the sea. So, spray the foliage once or twice a day. It’s better to spray in the morning and evening after the sunlight goes down. Giant Sequoia prefers something other than deep soil. Mixed soil is good for it.

Bald Cypress:

Bald Cypress is one of rarest bonsai. I put it in fourth place. Bald Cypress needs time to grow and takes ages to become a bonsai. It’s a unique bonsai with rare characteristics.

Bald CypressCare:

Do not let the Bald Cypress fully dry out. It needs a balance of water and oxygen. It likes direct sunlight, so consider this when placing it in your indoor garden. Commonly, Bald Cypress suffers from root aphids and root mealybugs. Get rid of as many bugs as you can  You may also try periodic treatments to save your rare bonsai.

Mickey Mouse Bush:

Who doesn’t like Mickey Mouse? Everyone has childhood memories with Mickey Mouse. So, my last choice is the Mickey Mouse Bush. It’s named after Mickey

Mouse because its flowers have bright red sepals that resemble Mickey Mouse’s face.It may grow to be 20 feet tall and is rarely seen as a bonsai.

Care:

Normally, it’s a slow-growing tree. It will grow best in average and medium moisture levels but needs well-drained soil. Generally, it is pest and disease-free. It’s effortless to care for. It can handle wet as well as heavy soil and dry conditions.

We are at the end. I kept my list mixed so that everyone could choose. There are many rare bonsai, but I chose these five to keep in an indoor garden.

Remember that bonsai takes time to cultivate and is a unique plant. So, if you decide to have one, ensure you take care of it well. It adds a rare vibe to your garden. Garden lovers always want to have at least one bonsai.

That’s all for today. Happy planting.
